Spray logs let you record every chemical application against a site, so you can see exactly how your spray program lines up with the spore and disease risk data on your BioScout dashboard.

Logging sprays consistently is one of the best ways to get value from BioScout as they transform your graphs into a record of what you sprayed, when, why and - importantly - what the impact was on your spore levels.

Before You Start

You need an Organisation Admin or Organisation User role to add or edit a spray log. If you're not sure which role you have, check with your Organisation Admin or contact [email protected].

Note: Organisation Viewer, Organisation Data Access and Organisation Spore Analyst roles can't see or add spray logs. This is by design, so growers can share spore and weather data externally (e.g. with agronomists or corporate partners) without exposing sensitive spray records.

Step-by-Step: Adding a Spray Log

1. Open the Site you want to log a spray against

2. Go to Notes > Spray Diary Log and select Register Spray Log

3. Enter the general details:

  • Spray date and time

  • Water Rate - enter the volume applied (L/Ha)

4. Enter the Product Application details:

  • The trade name of the chemical

  • The active ingredient

  • The application rate via whichever unit fits your operation (e.g. ml/ha, g/ha, ml/acre or g/acre)

5. Use the Notes section to add in any extra context such as the block, crop variety, or the disease you're targeting

6. Select the Reference Device to specify the nearest device to the site you're spraying

7. The Weather at the time of spraying will be automatically sourced from your device if it recorded a reading at that time. If it didn't, you can choose to fill it from regional weather data, enter it manually, or leave it blank

8. Select Save to add the spray to your log. Your spray log will now appear as a marker on the relevant graphs, so you can see it against spore concentration and infection risk over time.

Hot Tips

  • Log sprays as you go rather than saving them up for the end of the season so that you can observe the impact of sprays on spore levels throughout the season

  • For free-text note fields, we recommend keeping your naming conventions consistent for future reporting (e.g. always "Block 3", not "Blk3" one time and "Block Three" the next)

  2. Click Update and edit the site, date, information or photos as needed

  3. Select Save to update the record

Step-by-Step: How to Delete a Spray Log

  1. Go to Notes > Spray Logs

  2. Identify the spray log you wish to delete and click on the bin icon under the Actions column on the far-right hand side
